Platform Extensibility, Part I: Developing Evergage Gears for Integration
Date & Time
Thursday, September 19, 2019, 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM
If you’ve glanced at Scott Brinker’s martech landscape supergraphic lately (it’s now up to over 7,000 technologies) and it’s your job to make sure your data flows across all of your platforms and channels, you might have felt the urge to curl into a ball and reconsider your life choices.
While many companies may use the same point solutions (e.g., an email provider), no two marketing departments has identical technology environments. Seeing this first hand with our customers led us to develop Evergage GearsTM, a framework that allows you to extend Evergage to meet your company’s unique needs. If you have a proprietary transaction feed, for example, you can develop a Gear to ingest the data into Evergage. Have you always wanted to send events to that quirky system that nobody will integrate with? If it has an API, you can send event data to it with an Evergage Gear!
In part one of this two-part breakout session, join Evergage engineers to learn about:
Using the Evergage Gears development environment
Understanding Gear component types and what they can do
Using the config system to add configurability to a Gear
Data extensions (adding supplemental data to Evergage)
Batch integrations (processing data feeds)
Testing your Gears
Join us for an exciting journey into the world of Gears!
